    South African artist Tyla has recognized the impact of Afrobeats after winning the Best Afrobeats, Best African Act, and Best R&B awards at the 2024 MTV EMAs.

    She outperformed well-known artists like Ayra Starr, DBN Gogo, Diamond Platnumz, and TitoM & Yuppe.

    In her acceptance speech, Tyla expressed gratitude for Afrobeats, stating, “Thank you to Afrobeats, it has opened many doors for African music.”

    This reference to Afrobeats follows her 2024 VMAs victory, where she showcased her Amapiano background with her popular song “Water,” which also features Afrobeats elements.

    Tyla outperformed well-known Nigerian artists like Asake, Rema, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, and Tems at both the VMAs and EMAs.

    In other news, A nostalgic video featuring Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has emerged online, in which she forecasts her daughter Priscilla’s engagement at the age of 23.

    This revelation coincides with the recent release of the music video for Priscilla’s hit song “Ololufe,” in collaboration with her Tanzanian singer partner, Juma Jux.

    In the widely circulated clip, Iyabo Ojo is seen commemorating Priscilla’s 20th birthday, offering sincere prayers for her future marital achievements.

    During the celebration, Iyabo Ojo expressed her hopes for Priscilla, predicting her engagement at 23, marriage at 24, and the arrival of her first child at 25.

    Priscilla and her friends enthusiastically responded with ‘Amen’ in agreement, as Iyabo Ojo conveyed her excitement about the possibility of becoming a grandmother.

    Recently, Priscilla garnered attention for her engagement to Juma Jux, and the couple has been the subject of admiration for their affectionate public displays, showcased in various romantic videos and photographs.

    The couple is set to marry in 2025, positioning their upcoming wedding as one of the most eagerly awaited events of the year.
