Nigerians are furious after a video of Desmond Elliot giving away perfumes, markers and jotters to youths on the streets of Lagos trends.
The actor who transitioned into politics was re-elected in the general elections of 2023 as the legislator for the Surulere seat.
In what appears to be an APC rally, the congressman distributed gifts to the young people begging on the streets of Lagos. Many of them could be seen arguing over the shared goods and attempting to get the politician to give them their own portion.
However, a lot of Nigerians have criticized him for his detachment from reality, arguing that the country’s crumbling economy is the main reason why the majority of Nigerians are hungry and struggling.
