Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies has mentioned that he likes songs by Nigerian musicians Burna Boy and Rema.

In a recent interview shared by Bundesliga on social media, he identified Burna Boy’s ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ and Rema’s ‘Ozeba’ as his two favorite songs.

“These are my top five songs; number one, ‘Sitting On Top Of The World’ by Burna Boy. Number two is another afrobeats song, ‘Ozeba’ by Rema,” Davies said.

The top 5 songs for the Canada captain include MHD’s ‘Champions League’, Fendi Drip’s ‘Luciano’, and Basshunter’s ‘Now You’re Gone’.

Davies has also mentioned Davido’s ‘Legend Can Never Die’ and ‘No Competition’ as songs that get him ready for matches.

In other news, Ayra Starr, the globally recognized Afrobeats artist, has become the latest pop star to enter the Nigerian film industry, known as Nollywood.

The 22-year-old Grammy-nominated artist is poised to make her acting debut in the Prime Video original film, ‘Christmas In Lagos.’

This romantic comedy features a talented cast, including Teniola A. Aladese, Shalom C. Obiago, Rayxia Ojo, Shaffy Bello, and Adekunle Gold. The storyline revolves around Fiyin (Aladese), who, after experiencing heartbreak, believes that her best friend, Elo (Obiago), is her true soulmate. The film was shot in Lagos and directed by Jadesola Osiberu.

“For me, Ayra Starr represents what it means to be young and female and daring and brave and fearless – just being yourself. She was on the list from day one,” Osiberu told Variety.

Additionally, the film features cameo appearances by musicians Wurld and Liya, while the soundtrack includes contributions from the legendary Sunny Ade, as well as Afrobeats stars Flavour and D’banj, among others.
