Ambrose Ali University has been shut indefinitely. The management had to shut the university down after students took to the highway and school premises in a ‘peaceful’ protest this morning. According to the students, they paid N150,000 last year as new students and the then Governor calmed them down when they wanted to protest the fees, saying they won’t pay such exorbitant fee in subsequent years. But now, even as they moved to 200L, the school management is asking them to pay the same amount, a decision they say can never be accepted.
Other students in 300L and 400L also joined them, as it was rumored that even at that level, they will now have to pay N150,000 each as school fees. According to the students, the protest was peaceful until the V.C called in soldiers who allegedly turned it bloody.
