Gloria Carter, the mother of American rap mogul Shawn Corey Carter, better known as Jay-Z, married Roxanne Wilshire after dating the woman for many years.
On Sunday, July 2nd, at night, the couple wed in Tribeca, New York City.
Along with Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles-Lawson and her cousin Angie Beyince, Gloria and Roxanne entered the Manhattan venue after Julius, the singer’s devoted bodyguard, cleared the way.
Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Tyler Perry were reportedly present at the celebrity-studded nuptials and reception, according to TMZ.
Jay-Z opened up about his mother coming out to him on “Smile,” a track off his 2017 album 4:44.
“Mama had four kids, but she’s a lesbian/Had to pretend so long that she’s a thespian/Had to hide in the closet, so she medicate/Society shame and the pain was too much to take.
