American singer, Mariah Carey loses mother & sister on same day

On Monday, the singer, who has received numerous Grammy awards, disclosed this information in a statement. However, she did not specify the specific day or the causes of death for either woman.

“My heart is broken that I have lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day. I was blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed,” Carey said.

Before her passing, Mariah Carey’s mother, Patricia, a renowned opera singer, collaborated with her daughter.

Mariah Carey has previously disclosed that her mother served as the catalyst for her musical endeavors.

Alison, Carey’s sibling, maintained an estranged relationship with her.

Carey disclosed in her memoir that she found it “emotionally and physically safer” to avoid any interaction with her sister Alison and her brother Morgan, as reported by Variety.

Recalls that Alfred Roy Carey, Carey’s father, passed away in 2002 due to cancer.
