Popular Anambra native doctor, Akwa Ọkụkọ Tiwara Aki, has been taken into custody by security operatives under the Anambra State Government over allegations related to the controversial practice known as oke ite.
Following his arrest, Akwa Ọkụkọ firmly denied ever conducting oke ite rituals, dismissing viral social media videos linking him to the practice as false and misleading. He insisted that such rituals do not exist in his work.
However, security officials remain skeptical, citing past statements where he allegedly claimed to prepare oke ite for individuals.
Authorities have reportedly challenged him to provide proof of its existence and demonstrate how it works, warning that failure to do so could come with serious consequences.
The arrest has since sparked debate online, with mixed reactions from supporters and critics alike.
