The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries election which was marred by violence, led to the burning of campaign vehicles of Okorocha’s Son-in-law by Imo youths.
It was gathered that Imo youths from Amaike Community, went off on a rampage as they alleged that supporters of Governor Rochas Okorocha’s son-in-law and anointed aspirant for Imo 2019 gubernatorial election were imposing the candidate on them.
Three branded campaign vehicles for Uche Nwosu Campaign Organisation at Amaike Primary School in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State, were burnt in the violence that erupted. Here are photos below; This is coming few months after it was reported that Chairman of the All progressives Congress in Imo State, Daniel Nwafor, said Governor Rochas Okorocha cannot determine the governorship candidate of the party for the 2019 general elections.
He stated this after presenting the keys to the 27 Sienna vehicles bought for the chairmen of the party in all the local government areas of the state. He insisted that members of the party would determine the party’s candidate for the governorship election next year.
He noted that the party recognised the governor as the leader of the party in the state, but that his choice of his Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu, as his preferred successor would not affect the credibility of the party’s primary.
