A serious chaos hits kastina state, as some angry residents took to the streets to register their displeasure against the rate of kidnapping, rape, and some other vices in the community and the country as a whole.
During the protests, the Katsina-Kankara highway and all other adjoining roads at Yantumaki in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State were blocked.
These protesters burnt down all billboards of President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the town.
The protests were necessitated after the abduction of a health worker identified as Yusuf and his daughter together with the death of a traditional ruler of Yantumaki, Abubakar Atiku Maidabino who was shot dead by unknown gunmen.
One of the residents who spoke to reporters said;
“The youths took to the streets since morning (yesterday), following another incidence of abductions, which have become too many in Yantumaki town and Danmusa Local Government Area.”
The protest was also confirmed by the Spokesman of the Katsina State Police Command, Gambo Isah, however, he indicated that that normalcy had since been restored by the police and other security agencies.
