The Nigerian Army has officially launched its 2025 recruitment exercise for the 89 Regular Recruit Intake, inviting applications from both tradesmen and non-tradesmen, including women.
With this announcement, eligible Nigerians now have the opportunity to apply online, following specific guidelines set by military authorities.
To qualify, applicants must meet several essential criteria. They must be Nigerian citizens by birth and possess both a National Identity Number (NIN) and a Bank Verification Number (BVN). Furthermore, candidates must be in good medical, physical, and psychological health, in accordance with the military’s strict fitness standards.
Only single applicants are eligible to apply, and they must have a minimum of four passes in their secondary school examinations, including English Language. Additionally, candidates must have no criminal record or pending legal charges in any Nigerian court.
For those applying as tradesmen or tradeswomen, a Trade Test or City and Guilds Certificate is required in addition to the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Age requirements also vary based on the category of applicants. Non-tradesmen and women must be between 18 and 22 years old, while tradesmen and women can apply if they are between 18 and 26 years old as of June 30, 2025.
Applicants must provide a valid birth certificate issued by the National Population Commission (NPC), a local government authority, or a recognized hospital. In cases where a birth certificate is unavailable, an officially endorsed age declaration may be accepted.
Additionally, a valid state of origin certificate is required as part of the application review process.
