English Premier League Club, Arsenal has announced a change in the job title of Mikel Arteta.
According to the Gunners in a club statement on Thursday, Arteta’s job title has changed from head coach to first-team manager.
“Right from the day he walked through the door, he was doing much more than being our head coach.
“So we’re going to be changing his job title going forward. He’ll move from head coach to be the first-team manager. That’s recognition of what he’s been doing from the day he walked in the door, but also where we see his capabilities,” the statement read in part.
Naija News reports Arteta was appointed in December 2019 to replace Unai Emery and has during his short spell in charge, already won two trophies for the club.
First, he led his team and club to a 2-1 win over Chelsea in the 2020 FA Cup final and also defeated Liverpool to lift the Community Shield last month
Arsenal will play against Fulham in the first game of the 2020/21 Premier League season and fans of the club will be hoping the good times continue under Arteta’s reign.
