President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday received Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, at the Abuja House, London. Welby, during the visit, presented a copy of his book, “Reimagining Britain: Foundation for Hope” to Buhari.

President Muhammadu Buhari left Abuja for London, United Kingdom (UK), on monday. The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, Mallam Garba Shehu, said in a statement, that Buhari was going on an official visit to Britain.
It is expected that while in London, the President would hold discussions with the British Prime Minister, Mrs. Theresa May on Nigeria–UK relations. The meeting between the two leaders will come ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings scheduled for 18th to 20th April.

The CHOGOM of this year is scheduled to hold between 16th to 20th April, 2018 at Buckingham Palace, St James’s Palace and Windsor Castle. The Commonwealth is a diverse community of 53 nations that work together to foster prosperity, democracy and peace.
The world leaders are expected to meet and reaffirm the organisation’s common values, address the shared global challenges which the different countries face and agree on how to work to create a better future for all citizens, especially the young people.
Garba said that the President would also meet the Chief Executive Officer of Royal Dutch Plc, Mr. Ben van Beurden, in connection with Shell and other partners’ plan to invest $15 billion in Nigeria’s oil industry. Garba said:
“These investment ventures will lay the foundation for the next 20 years production and domestic gas supply, bringing with it all the attendant benefits both to the economy and the wider society.”
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday also said his decision to seek re-election in 2019 was based on the clamour by Nigerians.
According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the President said this at a closed-door meeting of the National Executive Council of the ruling All Progressives Congress, held at the party’s headquarters in Abuja.
