As Expected, Dino Melaye Reacts to News That Notorious Criminals Were Working for Him [Video]

Dino Melaye has reacted to reports of the arrest and parade of political thugs reportedly funded to disturb the peace of Kogi state by him. Senator Dino Melaye shared a video on social media singing and dancing about the allegations.

Dino Melaye shared the video on Facebook and captioned it, Yahaya Bello will fail

The Kogi state senator also took to Twitter to react to the report of him sponsoring thugs, Senator Dino Melaye tweeted;

Senator Dino Melaye is representing Kogi West! How can he now fund thugs from Kogi East??This lies looks so cheap! Why will force PPRO go all the way to lokoja to parade suspects? This strategy is weak and dead on arrival ~~~ The venom of a viper does nothing to the back of a tortoise

Fabricated lies by Kogi State Govt and the police will fail. It’s utterly laughable and preposterous. It’s a sign of desperation. No amount of lies and blackmail will detract my attention from speaking the truth and defending it.

The Kogi state Independent National Electoral Commission announced today dates for the commencement of the recall process of the embattled Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Prof. James Apam, said following the appeal court ruling that INEC can commence the recall process, the commission has fixed the last Saturday of April as the verification date.

INEC also fixed first Saturday in the month of May as the day that a referendum would be conducted in line with the electoral laws.

Apam spoke at a stakeholders’ forum on Wednesday in Lokoja.

He said,

“On this day, the Commission will endeavour to invite all those who have signed the recall register to come forward and identify their signature.”

According to him, if this process is successful, the Commission will proceed to the next stage where a referendum of all registered voters would be conducted.

“Here, voters will be asked to vote either ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to the question of whether they want Senator Dino Melaye recalled.

“If the answer meets the constitutional requirements of 51 percent ‘yes,’ the process moves to the next stage; but if it fails, the process stops,” Apam explained.
