Tribunal defeat: Atiku, PDP to address world press conference today

Atiku Abubakar, a former vice-president of Nigeria, expressed his determination to continue running for the presidency as long as he remains in good health and alive.

He made this statement during an interview on the Hausa service of the Voice of America in Abuja.

When asked if he plans to contest again, Atiku confidently stated that he will persistently participate in future elections.

He drew a parallel with former US President Abraham Lincoln, who also contested multiple times before eventually winning.

Atiku acknowledged that winning the election would require more than just his individual efforts, emphasizing the need for strong support and collaboration with other political parties due to the current state of the PDP.

It is worth noting that Atiku will be 81 years old when the next presidential election takes place in 2027.

Despite having run for the presidency six times, he has only appeared on the ballot as a presidential candidate in three instances: 2007, 2019, and 2023.
