Following the debut of his third album ‘Lungu Boy,’ Asake kicked off a world tour, featuring performances at key venues such as the iconic O2 Arena.
During his memorable concert at the O2 Arena, Asake captivated the audience with his hit songs, including tracks from ‘Lungu Boy.’
Notable figures like Grammy winner Wizkid and actor Idris Elba attended Asake’s concert at the O2 Arena. Idris Elba presented Asake with a sold-out plaque and a BRIT silver plaque for his album ‘Work Of Art.’
With his recent achievement of selling out the O2 Arena, which holds 20,000 people, Asake joins the ranks of other Nigerian Afrobeats artists like Davido and Wizkid, who have also sold out this venue more than once.
Asake’s first sold-out show at the O2 was in 2023, coinciding with the launch of his second album, ‘Work of Art,’ and marking his rise on the global stage.
The O2 Arena has been significant in highlighting the international success of Afrobeats. Davido was the first Nigerian solo performer to headline there in 2018, and Wizkid did so in 2019, returning for a remarkable three-night run in 2021.
