Renowned Nigerian singer Asake has spoken out following accusations from his father, Fatai Odunsi, who claimed he was being neglected.

In a widely circulated video, Odunsi—who is battling a partial stroke—appealed to Nigerians for financial assistance, stating that he last saw his son in March 2022 when his health issues began.

Addressing the allegations in a freestyle video released on Friday, Asake expressed frustration over the situation, emphasizing that it is impossible to satisfy everyone.

He revealed that despite his continuous financial support, his father was still trying to pressure him. The singer also lamented that, despite his relentless efforts, some people seemed determined to make life more challenging for him.

“You can’t please humans, you can’t please the world. Whatever you do, do it for God. My own father wants to cajole me even though I have always sent him a lot of money. I have struggled for so many years, yet they want to make life hard and exhausting for me,” Asake freestyled in a mixture of Yoruba and English.
