“Aside padding budgets, what else do our senators do” – Basketmouth asks

• Abdul Ningi, a senator from Bauchi Central Senatorial District, has been suspended due to alleged 2024 budget padding.

Bright Okpocha, also known as Basketmouth, a Nigerian comedian and actor, is concerned about the duties and accomplishments of senators in Nigeria, aside from padding budgets.

This comes after Abdul Ningi, the senator representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District, was suspended for alleged 2024 budget padding.

In response, the comedian wondered about what senators do aside than padding budgets.


He also inquired about the senators’ initiatives over the last fifty years that had benefitted the average Nigerian.

His words: “I’ve got a question… Aside padding budgets, what else do our senators do? Like…what have they done in the past 50yrs that favored the average Nigerian?”
