Adesina Ogunlana, who used to represent the convicted actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, is dead.
The former chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association’s Ikeja branch died on Tuesday, August 7.
Just a few days before his death, he marked his 60th birthday at the branch secretariat on Saturday, July 27.
The confirmation of his death was issued in a statement endorsed by Issa Adedokun, the secretary of the current NBA, Ikeja Branch.
The statement read:
“The Executive Committee regrets to announce the sudden passage of our beloved Leader, Adesina Ogunlana, Esq. (Past Chairman (2016 – 2018). who passed on yesterday the 6th of AUGUST 2024.
“We are deeply saddened by this transition but comforted by the fact that, our dear Leader lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation by all.
“His contribution to our Branch in particular, the legal profession and the entire country in general will forever remain indelible.
“Burial arrangements will be announced upon confirmation from his immediate family.
“As we condole with his family, kindly remember them in prayers at this critical time.”
In other news, Nigerian artist Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has garnered attention once again following the unveiling of a lifelike statue resembling him.
A collection of images showcasing the sculpture was shared with his followers on his official Instagram account.
The statue was styled like a boxer, wearing boxing gloves, boots, and shorts. The name ‘Spiderman’ was printed on the shorts.
The sculpture also featured Portable’s bright and colorful hairstyle along with other details.
The statue of Portable elicited a range of concerned responses from fans following the online dissemination of photographs. Some expressed curiosity regarding the singer’s choices at times.
