In Kaduna, bandits has kidnapped a retired principal on his ways to deliver ransom for a victims release.

This was revealed by Senator Shehu Sani on his X account this morning, January 16. He stated that the retired principal offered to assist in paying the ransom to the abductors who were enslaving their victims in Kaduna state’s Birnin Gwari.

The senator claims that the retiring principal has not yet been released after three days.

His post reads;

’A retired School principal who volunteered to deliver ransom to kidnappers in order to secure the release of a victim has also been held by the kidnappers in Birnin Gwari lg,Kaduna state.He’s been in captivity for 3 days now,the abductors made calls to his family for his ransom.”

MEANWHILE Oladosu Folorunso Ariyo, a Nigerian lawyer, has described how kidnappers wearing military camouflage took his wife and their four children, killing his 13-year-old daughter when they refused to pay an N60 million ransom

This was revealed by Mr. Ariyo, an Ekiti State native and alumni of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), in a frantic message to his colleagues on their WhatsApp group, pleading for the Nigerian Bar Association’s (NBA) help.

According to LIB, on January 7, 2024, gunmen broke into Sagwari Layout Estate in the Dutse axis of Abuja estate and kidnapped the victims.

A N60 million ransom was requested by the kidnappers. One of the children, Michelle, was slain after they failed to obtain the necessary funds, and her body was disposed of in Ida, close to Ushafa in the Bwari Area Council.

If Ariyo doesn’t pay the ransom, the kidnappers, in his words, threaten to kill both his wife and the three children he still has.

Here’s what he wrote in the WhatsApp group:

 “Dear Seniors & Colleagues, Most respectfully, I’m Oladosu Folorunso Ariyo, a lawyer working in Abuja. On Sunday evening the 7th of January 2024, around 7:30 pm, a band of kidnappers dressed in full military camon invaded my home located at Sagwari Layout Estate in Dutse, Abuja,” the message reads.

“They kidnapped my wife (who is also a lawyer) and our four children. The kidnappers called and demanded for 60 million ransom out of which through generous donation of friends and family, I’ve been able to raise the sum of N7 million naira which they have vehemently refused to collect.

“As at today, they’ve killed my first born- Michelle Ariyo ( age 13) and dumped her corpse on Kaduna road while threatening to kill my 3 remaining children (who are all minors) and wife who are still in captivity. PLEASE AND PLEASE SIR, I URGENTLY NEED THE INTERVENTION OF NBA.”
