Caroline Areoghene Igben, a fast-rising actress from Delta State, is confidently navigating her career with authenticity.

As cosmetic procedures such as liposuction and the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) gain traction, particularly among celebrities, Igben has made her position clear.

In a recent interview with Saturday Sun, she expressed her firm decision against altering her body for aesthetic purposes.

“BBL? Nope. I will never consider going through that at all. But I do not judge those who do it. I think the nicely done ones are beautiful but it is not for me,” she stated.

Looking back on her youth, the dark-skinned actress acknowledged that she once perceived light-skinned women as more attractive. However, she now embraces her natural skin tone with pride and confidence. “When I was younger, I used to think light-skinned women were more beautiful, but right now, I’m very confident. I love my skin colour a lot”

When asked if she ever felt the urge to lighten her skin to conform, Igben credited her supportive circle for helping her recognize her own beauty.. “No, I wasn’t because I had certain people in my life who made me feel super beautiful. But, I sincerely think with maturity and self-awareness comes a certain confidence of knowing who you are and how people’s opinions on what they consider beautiful shouldn’t faze you.”

Discussing the darker aspects of Nollywood, the newly married actress revealed that she has not encountered the practice of trading sexual favors for roles.

“I hear about it, but I haven’t experienced it. I do get requests to go on a lunch date with producers. I see it as a man trying to get to know you, but whatever their intentions are, I can’t say, but you definitely can’t be forced to date someone you are uninterested in,” she concluded.
