Sooj, a contestant on Big Brother Naija, declares his everlasting love for Nelly, his romantic interest and fellow housemate, by gifting her his ancestral necklace.
A widely circulated video captures Sooj as he shares his emotions with Nelly while presenting the necklace.
He assures her of his unwavering support and inquires if she will also be there for him during tough times when he faces opposition from the world.
He disclosed that the necklace came from his great grandmother, then to his grandmother, and finally to his mother. Sooj said he accidentally brought it to the house, but now that she owns it, he has no regrets.
Nelly noted that she never realized Sooj was such a sweet and kind person. A lot of viewers thought the love between the housemates seemed fake or one-sided.
In his words: “I will stand by you. Do you agree to stand by me in those situations when the going gets rough and the world is against me? Do you promise that you will stand by me no matter the cause?”
Nelly said “Yes” and received the necklace, sealing and solidifying the bond between the both of them, according to Sooj.
