BBNaija reality star Tacha Akide has voiced her frustration over the actions of some Nigerians in the UK, calling out their habit of recording her in public without offering a simple greeting.
Having recently moved to the UK, Tacha shared her thoughts on Instagram, expressing her surprise and disappointment at how her fellow Nigerians interact with her abroad.
She revealed that while many Nigerians spotted her throughout the day, none took the time to acknowledge her presence or exchange pleasantries. Instead, they chose to film her on their phones—a behavior she found unsettling and inappropriate.
“You guys will not believe I saw so many Nigerians today, which was great. But the crazy part was that you’re seeing me, and you cannot even say ‘Hi.’ I can’t begin to count how many white people saw me and said I looked beautiful today.
“The Nigerians that saw me today—what came into their heads was to record me with their phone. I am not begging you to say ‘Hi,’ but if you’re not going to say ‘Hi,’ don’t record me,” she lamented.
Her statement has caused a split reaction on social media, with some users making fun of her for feeling large, while others empathized with her situation.
