A Nigerian lady’s first effort at preparing ogbono soup has piqued the interest of many on social media after she recounted her dismal experience online.
The lady @badgirlalla on X (previously Twitter) tweeted a photo of her unappetizing food, which elicited a swarm of replies from netizens offering helpful comments.
She stated that she had added red oil to the pot but to mix the ogbono (wild mango seeds) in water before adding it into the oil.
Instead of the expected thickened soup, her attempt resulted in a black , unpalatable combination.
Narrating her experience, she wrote:
“Made ogbono for the first time. The thing was, I applied the red oil, kinda bleached it then forgot to add the ogbono inside little water. I just poured the dry ogbono inside the oil, stiring it, before I know, everything was black and my ogbono did not draw. A whole 1 cup of ogbono wasted.”
