The death of a Catholic priest, Rev Fr. Faustinus Gundu has been confirmed by Benue police
The Priest of St. Joseph Catholic Church Jootar in the state’s Ukum Local Government Area mysterious death was reported to have occurred on Thursday.
The Rev. Fr. allegedly slumped and passed away, according to one version of the report, while another stated that the Catholic priest was killed by lightning.
However, it was learned that the late Fr. Gundu, who had left a towel outside, had rushed outside to retrieve it whenit’s suddenly started raining heavily.
“As he hurried outside to retrieve the towel, he slipped, fell, and hit his head on a hard surface.
According to a source who does not want to be named in print, “the priest was there the entire time the rain lasted as at the time of the incident, no one was available to help him.”
According to what was learned, he passed away by the time people learned about the incident.
The incident was confirmed by the state police public relations officer for Benue, SP Catherine Anene.
She was unable to confirm whether he passed away from a fatal slump or from thunder, though.
“I received the report, but they claimed thunder,” she remarked. That won’t be determined until we look into it. “
