American singer and songwriter Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, the most awarded and nominated artist in Grammy history, has made history again with a new record.

This year’s Grammy Awards were held at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles.

Beyoncé kicked off the event by winning the award for best country duo/group performance for “II Most Wanted” alongside Miley Cyrus.

This year, Beyoncé received the most nominations, totaling 11, including the top award for album of the year for her praised eighth studio album, “Cowboy Carter.”

She was also nominated in the Country & American Roots category for the first time.

In all, seven songs from the album were nominated in four different genres.

With her win for “II Most Wanted,” Beyoncé makes history as the first Black woman to win a Grammy for a country song since the Pointer Sisters took home the award in 1975.

No Black female solo artist has ever won in this category before. Four years ago, Mickey Guyton was the first Black woman nominated for a country music award with her song “Black Like Me.”

Tina Turner’s first album, “Tina Turns the Country On!”, received a Grammy nomination for best female R&B vocal performance in 1975.

This year was also significant as it was the first time a Black woman was nominated for the album of the year award in the country music category.

Beyoncé’s win in country music marks a significant moment in history. In the fall, she was in the spotlight after receiving no nominations for the 2024 Country Music Association Awards, even with her groundbreaking album. She led the nominations at the People’s Choice Country Awards with 12 but didn’t win any.

However, she achieved her first country awards at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards in December, where she was recognized as the top country female artist.
