The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu, has declared that his group would support the actions of Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue.
Recall that armed herdsmen attacked the governor’s convoy while on a visit to a farm on Saturday at Tyo Mu community along Makurdi-Gboko road.
While speaking with newsmen after the incident, Ortom narrated that the gunmen, numbering about 15, trailed him and his team to a riverbank when he was on foot before launching the attack.
However, a shadowy group, the Fulani Nationality Movement (FUNAM) has claimed responsibility for the attack on the Benue governor.
In a post on his Twitter handle on Friday, Nnamdi Kanu stated that IPOB and Biafrans will stand with the governor.
Reacting to a statement he credited to Governor Ortom, the IPOB leader asked the Benue governor not to despair as he is backed by many.
Nnamdi Kanu wrote: “‘Our forefathers stopped them in 1804, we are not afraid’ – Ortom
“Dear Gov. Ortom, The IPOB that I lead stand with you. Biafrans stand with you.
“I’m pretty certain that all that yearn for freedom in Nigeria stand with you
