Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, widow of the late Biafra leader Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has revisited her controversial clash with Ebelechukwu Obiano, the wife of former Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano.
The incident occurred on March 17, 2022, during the swearing-in ceremony of Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo. Reports indicate that Ebelechukwu Obiano approached Bianca and allegedly questioned her presence at the event, saying, “What are you doing here? You shouldn’t be here.” In response, Bianca struck her, leading to a brief commotion before security intervened.
While neither party publicly disclosed the exact reasons behind the altercation, speculation points to underlying political and personal disputes. Bianca, a former Nigerian ambassador and an influential figure in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), had reportedly been at odds with Ebelechukwu Obiano over party leadership matters.
Now, three years later, Bianca has reignited discussions about the incident by posting a video of the altercation on Instagram, accompanied by a cryptic message.
“NEVER TURN YOUR LAST DAY IN OFFICE INTO A PAINFUL EXIT…. As the saying goes, ‘Pink butterflies, especially those with oversized wings or inflated egos, must never fly too dangerously close to the flame.’
“Exactly on this day, 17th March, in 2022, a certain individual under the influence decided to put this adage to the test. Trouble dey sleep….” she wrote.
Her post has sparked renewed conversations on social media, as many people remember the intense moment and its impact on Anambra’s political scene.
