The extravagant lifestyle of a notorious fraudster has come to a halt, as he has been sentenced to two years in prison in Abuja.
The individual, Chima Hyginus Nkwocha, also known as “Young Billionaire,” received this sentence after being found guilty of offenses related to impersonation and money laundering.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which facilitated the conviction, announced that Nkwocha was sentenced on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
As per the statement, Nkwocha was brought before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja, facing two counts of cheating by impersonation and money laundering.
Upon the reading of the charges, the defendant entered a guilty plea.
In light of his admission of guilt, the prosecution counsel, Lanre Adeola Olariwaju, presented the case against Nkwocha and urged the court to impose an appropriate sentence.
