In the midst of this, Bolaji Ogunmola spoke out on X to clarify things. She stated that the scene is essential as it depicts a man who is very much in love with his woman. She wrote:

“Promotional shoot/ content is part of an actor’s contractual obligations. Were there cameras there? Yes.. tons of people there? Yes. Was he there as a husband no… he’s an ACTOR playing a character called adimchi who’s ridiculously in love with murewa. Was he professional yes!”

The actress highlighted the importance of the kissing scene, sharing that she is a romantic at heart who grew up enjoying movies with great chemistry between the actors. She expressed her desire to bring those sweet moments to life, Bolaji Ogunmola wrote:

“Grew up watching those crazy cheesy love stories Both abroad and in Nigeria… The ones where Genevieve will fall in love with Emeka Ike and there’s nothing anyone would tell me, I believed it was the realest thing ever. Their love story was so pure and ridiculously gooood. Creating this project, I wanted a representation of a great love story so gooood and so pure and yes cheesy but very much in tune with today’s world.
