Victor Boniface, a forward with the Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen, has been nominated a candidate for the UEFA Europa League Goal of the Week award.
In a game against the Czech team Qarabag on Thursday night at the BayArena, the 22-year-old scored an incredible goal.
Florian Writz found Boniface right outside the area, and Boniface quickly placed the ball into the top corner.
Last season, Boniface shared the competition’s top scoring award.
After three Europa League games this season, Boniface has already netted two goals and given up one assist.
Along with Edoardo Bove, Magnus Wolff, and Lucas Paquetá, the Nigerian international was also nominated.
