Isa Gusau, the governor of Borno State‘s special assistant on media and strategy, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, is dead.
Gusau’s passing was declared by the Borno State administration in a statement on Friday.“We regret to announce that Mallam Isa Gusau died in the early hours of Thursday in a hospital outside the country after battling with heart problem,” the government said.
“Gusau was one of the aides first appointed by Governor Zulum after being sworn in on 29 May 2019.
“He had served in the same capacity when Governor Kashim @officialSKSM was the Governor of Borno for eight years. May his soul rest in peace. Ameen.”
Senator Kashim Shettima, the current vice president of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, appointed Gusau as a media aide at the start of his career. Shettima was the governor of Borno State at the time.
Prior to his position with the Borno State Government, he worked as a reporter for the Daily Trust Newspapers in Borno.
