[BREAKING] ₦37.1bn Fraud: Ex- Humanitarian Minister Arrives EFCC Headquarters for Questioning

Sadiya Umar-Farouk, the former minister of social development, disaster management, and humanitarian affairs, has arrived at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission headquarters to speak with investigators regarding an ongoing investigation into the N37,170,855,753.44 that was purportedly laundered during her time in office through a contractor named James Okwete.

The former minister arrived on Monday at around ten in the morning, according to our source.

The former minister tweeted about her visit to the EFCC offices at approximately 10:20 a.m.

 “I have, at my behest, arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to honour the invitation by the anti-graft agency to offer clarifications in respect of some issues that the commission is investigating,” Umar-Farouq tweeted on Monday morning.

The former Minister had previously formally written to the EFCC, citing health difficulties, asking for an extension of the deadline to meet with EFCC interrogators over an ongoing investigation into the N37,170,855,753.44 purportedly laundered during her tenure in office through a contractor, Okwete.
