Lucky Aiyedatiwa has taken over as the interim governor of the state of Ondo.
This phenomenon was seen soon after Aiyedatiwa arrived to Akure, the state capital, according to The Nation.
On Wednesday, December 13, Gistlover also reported that he was received by Ifedayo Abegunde, a former secretary to the state administration, and his allies.
Recall that the state house of assembly confirmed Aiyedatiwa as acting governor in response to a letter from Governor Rotimi Akeredolu informing the members that he was taking yet another round of medical leave.
The governor’s decision, according to Speaker Olamide Oladiji, was compliant with Section 190 of the 1999 Constitution (as modified). Aiyedatiwa would take over as governor in an acting capacity until a formal statement to the contrary was made, Akeredolu informed the Ondo Assembly.
The statement came after the assembly received a letter from Governor Akeredolu regarding the transfer of power.
He added that on Wednesday, December 13, the leave would start. Aiyedatiwa’s supporters celebrated the news on social media.
