Breaking: Buhari Appoints New NDDC Chief.
The President, Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the acting managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Kemebradikumo Daniel Pondei.
The sacking came about five months after he slumped before a panel of the House of Representatives investigating alleged misappropriation of N81.5 billion in the NDDC.
His dismissal was disclosed in a statement by President Buhari’s senior media adviser, Femi Adesina, on Saturday night.
Adesina noted, the president subsequently approved the appointment of Effiong Awa as the “interim administrator” of the commission.
“President Buhari approves interim administrator for the NDDC. He is Mr Effiong Okon Akwa, the Ag. Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Commission, who is to assume headship till completion of the forensic audit,” said the presidential aide.
Until his appointment, Okon was the director of finance and administration of the NDDC.
