The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emeifele, was taken before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The FHC had ordered the EFCC to either present Emefiele in court on Monday or release him unconditionally, but the EFCC had disregarded this directive.
The court reiterated its directive in response to the commission’s disobedience, and the hearing was postponed until Wednesday.
Nonetheless, the EFCC obeyed the directive as heavily armed agents escorted Emefiele into the courtroom.
But the judge hasn’t yet convened.
