On Wednesday night, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) Joint National Executive Council (NEC) decided to put an end to the ongoing indefinite nationwide workers’ strike.
The National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, intervened, according to the labor unions, resulting in the suspension.
According to LEADERSHIP, on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, both Labour Centers ordered their members and affiliated groups to begin an indefinite nationwide strike in protest of the alleged police brutality against NLC President Joe Ajaero on November 1. The incident occurred in Owerri, Imo State.
