In an unanimous judgment, a seven-man panel of Justices of the apex court, headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, dismissed the appeal that was lodged by the Gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the September 28, 2016 Governorship election, in Edo State, Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
The apex court court panel, held that both the interlocutory and main appeal Ize-Iyamu lodged before it, lacked merit.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court said it would on July 24, give reasons why it validated the election of Obaseki, who emerged on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
