The Senate has begun confirmation proceedings for Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has started the confirmation process for him to serve as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission as he is currently present at the National Assembly.

At the Senate in Abuja, the confirmation screening procedure is still in progress.

President Bola Tinubu appointed him after Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, the previous head of the anti-graft agency, was suspended over four months prior.

Olukoyede’s appointment as the Executive Chairman of the EFCC was just approved by Tinubu; the Senate must yet endorse the nomination.
