Musa Aliyu is now the official chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission, as confirmed by the Senate.
At the plenary on Thursday, there was a screening process that led to his confirmation.
Around 11:50 a.m., the screening began when the leader, Bamidele Opeyemi, issued a point order suspending pertinent Senate rules to admit outsiders into the chamber.
Deputy President Jibirin Barau oversaw the Committee of a Whole screening of Aliyu, a lawyer and Attorney-General of Jigawa State.
In a letter to the Senate on Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu requested Aliyu’s confirmation as the agency’s chairman.
