Nigerian actress Laide Bakare sparked uproar on social media with a video in which she addressed the country’s present situation.
Bakare discussed President Tinubu’s government and why Nigerians are dissatisfied with the way the country is being governed.
She also talked about the current nationwide protests and how the Presidency should best appease the public.
Netizens have fiercely condemned the actress’ statements, with many pointing out that she is a member of the government, given that she was just appointed by the governor of Osun state as the Senior Special Assistant on Arts and Tourism.
In her video, the Nollywood actress advocated for the return of fuel subsidies. She claimed that restoring fuel subsidies will bring peace to the country.
Laide Bakare stated that whatever good ideas President Tinubu has for the country can only succeed if fuel subsidy is restored because people are hungry.
