Nigerian singer and songwriter Crown Uzama, also known as Shallipopi, has declared that all Afrobeat musicians are stars, eliciting comments from social media users.
The Benin-born artist stated this during an interview at the Wireless festival in London. In a viral video, the interviewer forced Shallipopi to choose the best Afrobeat performer among Nigerian musicians Burna Boy, Asake, Rema, and Wizkid.
In recent days, fans and music lovers concluded that Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido are the top three National Afrobeat stars.
On the contrary, Shallipopi stated that in Nigeria, everyone is a star. His statements were this: “In Nigeria, there is no first, no second, no third and no fourth star in Nigeria” .
However, the interviewer asked him to name his favorite Afrobeat star. Shallipopi then called himself the top Afrobeat artist in Nigeria.
The video elicited astonishing reactions from social media users, who praised Shallipopi for his clever response.
