President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday decorated the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Farouk Yahaya which he had appointed on May 27 to replace Ibrahim Attahiru who died in a plane crash in Kaduna.
The ceremony was witnessed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo , the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, others members of the cabinet are participating virtually from their various offices.
The National Assembly last month confirmed Yahaya’s appointment.
The brief event at the State House, Abuja, held before the start of the weekly virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) and was attended by the chairman, Senate Committee on Army, Ali Ndume.
Meanwhile, President Buhari is currently presiding over the federal cabinet meeting at the First Lady’s Conference Room in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
