Buhari to Spend N110bn on Major Projects in Katsina.

During the FEC meeting on December 2, 2020, it was decided that N117.661b would be spent on building roads and bridges in some states.

Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN, the Minister of Works and Housing, made this known during a press conference at the Presidential Villa.

However, N8.7b would be spent on the Kano-Kazaure-Daura-Mai’adua highway.

Fashola disclosed that the FEC council had approved the rehabilitation of some roads including Omor-Umulokpa and Oye-Oranto at N1.712b and N2.5b respectively.

Also on Wednesday, Ministers approved the awarding of the contract for the Okpokwu Bridge on the Ogoja-Okuku-Aliforkpa-Benue road at Cross River for N1.06b.

The minister said the N1.02b Bida-Zungeru road project in Niger State had been approved. Between Abia and Enugu states, the Nkwumi Bridge will be constructed at a cost of N1.07b.

The Federal Government has also approved the construction of the Chalawa-Runku-Sawa-Kayi Road in Kumbotso, Kano.

Other projects approved by the House include Riga-Gusau Road in Zamfara, Jigakwana Road and Kokomo Auta Road all in Kebbi State.

There are also road works on Kuka Babangida, Ihiala-Orkula-Umuduru, Oye Ama Otite-Umuawulu, as well as Bichi road rehabilitation, the Minister said yesterday.

Fashola said the FEC has approved the operation of the real estate banking software, FMB at a cost of N487.394,285.71. The Minister explained the benefits of this software to be seen.
