Former Senate President Bukola Saraki feels a great sense of pride and happiness for his son, Seni Saraki, after he won a Grammy award.
Seni, a music consultant and CEO of The Native magazine, played a role in the Bob Marley: One Love soundtrack, which received the Best Reggae Album award at the 67th Grammy Awards.
Saraki expressed his joy on social media, emphasizing how important this achievement is for his son’s career.
“Congratulations, Seni, on winning your first Grammy last night for your work on the Bob Marley: One Love soundtrack, which took home the award for Best Reggae Album!” the proud father wrote in a post on X. “Seeing you pour your heart into your passion and having it recognised on the global stage is an indescribable joy. Well done! We are super proud of you!”
Seni, known for his work on major projects like the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, thanked the artists and producers who helped make the Bob Marley: One Love album a success.
He recognized the contributions of Nigerian artists like Wizkid and Bloody Civilian, along with international stars like Daniel Caesar and Jessie Reyez.
“I appreciate all the amazing artistes, producers and engineers who were brave enough to take on this project because it is about Bob Marley’s legacy,” Seni said. “I appreciate them for taking on the songs, reinterpreting them, and doing it their own way. Artists like Bloody Civilian, Wizkid, Daniel Caesar, and Jessie Reyez.”
Bob Marley: One Love is a film about the life of the famous reggae star. It highlights his challenges and the powerful music that turned him into a worldwide icon.
This Grammy recognition boosts Seni’s rising status in the music world, especially after he worked as a music consultant on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, which earned four Grammy nominations in 2023.
Seni, who graduated from the London School of Economics, is recognized for starting The Native, a music magazine in Lagos that highlights African culture, music, and style.
