Burna Boy becomes first African artiste to hit No.1 on India music chart

Burna Boy, a well-known Afrobeats performer from Nigeria, has made a significant advancement in the world of international music.

With the song “Mera Na bu” by the late Indian rapper Sidhu Moose Wala, he made his debut on the Indian music charts. and Number 1 was its highest point.

Steel Banglez, a British music producer and composer, and Burna Boy are featured in the posthumously released song “Mera Na” on April 7, 2023.

Following Rema, the self-described African Giant is now the second African and Nigerian artist to ever chart on the Billboard India Songs chart, according to a Twitter stat publishing page.

It wrote; “Mera Na” by (@iSidhuMooseWala,@burnaboy & @steelbanglez) debuts at; 1 on Billboard India Songs”

The song also reached the 14th spot on Billboard Canadian Hot 100 and debuted at 102 on Billboard Global 200 in the United States.

2023 Coachella: Burna Boy Reportedly Gets Paid N577 Million For 50 Minutes Performance

Burna Boy, a Nigerian Grammy winner, reportedly got $750,000 (N577.5m) for performing at this year’s Coachella, which was hosted at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

The event is scheduled to take place over two weekends, beginning on April 14 and ending on April 16, 2023.

Burna Boy entertained the audience for 50 minutes on April 14, Friday night, and he went home $750k richer, according to the booking fee for artists.

According to Business journalist, @TrungTPhan, on the lineup of artistes to perform, the headliner was reportedly paid $4 million alongside other musicians in the first row. While a lesser amount was fixed for those on the second row, where Burna Boy was named.

“Headlining the show is great for many superstar artists, but at the highest heights there’s a tradeoff. In recent years, the headliners get $4 million per weekend (but I heard from a source that Bad Bunny got $5 million). The artist on the second row got $750,000 per weekend.

That’s a great payday, even for an artist selling out arenas. But for an artist like Taylor Swift, who can likely gross $10 million per night on her own stadium tour, then she may be leaving money on the table. This is where the Coachella documentary deals play a factor. Beyonce was rumored to be paid $20 million for the Homecoming documentary on her 2018 show, which made the experience worthwhile for her (and the Beyhive).”
