Burna Boy didn’t pay medical bills of all patients – UPTH clears the air

The recent reports claiming that Burna Boy covered all medical bills for patients during his visit to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) have been debunked.

It is important to note that while the singer did engage in charitable acts in Port Harcourt, including paying medical bills and other generous gestures, he only settled the bills of selected patients.

This clarification was made by the hospital’s spokesperson, Elabha Meni, who released a statement in Port Harcourt on Friday.

Despite this clarification, the hospital still commended Burna Boy for his kind-heartedness.

“We commend Burna Boy’s kindness in financially assisting select patients in our hospital to offset their bills during his visit on June 11.

“However, contrary to reports stating that all patients’ bills in UPTH were paid during the visit, only selected patients received cash gifts or donations.

“The hospital did not receive direct payments from the musician and his team on behalf of patients to support this worthy course of reducing healthcare costs,” Meni stated.
