Nigerian actor Charles Okocha, also known as Igwe 2Pac or Mr. Phenomenal, shared why he kept his relationship with his new wife private for more than seven years.

In a recent chat with Sunday Scoop, he revealed that they have been dating secretly since 2017, adding: “I am getting married because it’s only right for me to be married.”

He continued, “We have been dating since 2017, quietly, with no social media show of affection. She lives in America and is a nurse. So, it is true.”

Reflecting on his experiences, he said that after spending years as a “baby daddy,” he thinks it’s finally time to get married.

He feels that marriage is the next step he should take in his life right now.

When he was questioned about how his children responded, Charles added, “My kids are very comfortable and happy with the news.”

Charles, a dad of two from earlier relationships, shared his wedding news on Instagram on November 5, 2024.

He posted pictures with his fiancée and used the hashtag #MICHARLES2024.

Charles also shared pre-wedding photos of them in white outfits and another in traditional clothing.

Some fans were surprised by the news, as he had previously been hesitant about marriage.

Charles Okocha and his partner had their traditional wedding on Saturday, November 9.
