Nollywood actress Chacha Eke Faani earlier today June 28, 2022, again announced the end of her marriage due to domestic violence. According to the actress, the 9-year-old marriage which produced 4 kids, is abusive and instead of losing her life in it, she will be leaving the union.
In her words;
”For the 2nd time in 2years, I am here again on social media boldly declaring that I am done with my marriage. My long overdue/relentless stance on this is of course no news to Austin Faani, the doctors and my parents.”
Award-winning dancer Kafayat Shafau popularly known as kaffy, granted media personality Chude Jideonwo a few weeks ago where she opened up about the abuse in her marriage.
Kaffy who is married to entertainer Joseph Ameh claims he slept with her best friend while they were married. In her words;
“If I had known I won’t have jumped into that fire, I thought he was just sleeping with strangers but I found out he was sleeping with my best friends, people I knew…I was thinking at the beginning that I had found someone to completely make me happy but that was selfish thinking, no human being should be your source of happiness,” she said.*
Actress Mercy Aigbe shocked many in 2017 when she released photos of her battered face via social media, revealing that she had been physically abused by her then-husband, Lanre Gentry. The marriage was also ridden with tales of infidelity. Mercy has since moved on, now married to movie marketer Kazeem Adeoti.
In 2016, multi-award-winning singer Tiwa Savage made headlines following reports of her marriage to then-manager TeeBillz hitting the rocks. The singer, in an interview with Mediaroomhub, accused Teebillz of stealing from her as well as subjecting her to emotional and psychological abuse. The marriage produced one son Jamil.
On-Air Personality Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, made headlines a while back after revealing he was a victim of domestic violence. Freeze has since moved and found love in the arms of another woman, shared photos of scars he got from his ex-wife whom he claimed assaulted him on multiple occasions
One year after tying the knot with Adeola Kehinde Oloyede back in 2012, actress Funke Akindele revealed the union had ended due to domestic abuse. According to reports, Oloyede subjected the actress to verbal and domestic abuse and also threatened to blackmail her and ruin her career with the lies he was going to tell media about her. Funke has since moved on and is now married to entertainer JJC Skillz.
