Nigeria’s representative, Chidimma Adetshina, made a striking impression at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in her Sisi Eko traditional outfit.
The event was held in Mexico on November 14, and her fashion choice was unforgettable.
The outfit, created by Abanobi Emmanuel Ifechukwu, is a vibrant representation of unity, strength, and heritage, crafted with over 10,000 coral pearls, cowrie shells, stones, feathers, and raffia.
Abanobi mentioned that every part respects the traditions and spirit of the people, celebrating the rich cultures of Nigeria and Africa.
Chidimma paired her outfit with a stunning headpiece that represents authority and a strong link to her ancestors. The beads reflect different aspects of African identity, such as unity, prosperity, courage, and resilience.
The stones and shells stand for wealth, protection, and a bond with the earth. The raffia connects to the land’s roots, while the staff she holds symbolizes wisdom and leadership. This is a strong image of a woman who brings people together through beauty, strength, and empowerment.
