The beauty queen from Enugu was also recognized as Miss Universe Africa and Oceania.

In his message of congratulations to Chidimma, Mbah commended her dedication and perseverance in the face of challenges.

He also expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their overwhelming support for Chidimma during the competition.

The Governor wrote, “Congratulations to Miss Universe Nigeria and Enugu State Brand Ambassador, Chidimma Adetshina, our pride from Amurri, Nkanu West Local Government, on emerging as the 1st Runner-Up at the Miss Universe 2024 Pageant in Mexico. Chidimma’s incredible journey and outstanding performance have filled us with immense pride, reaffirming the resilience, brilliance and determination that define Ndi Enugu.

“Against all odds, she has made Enugu and Nigeria shine brightly on the world stage, and we cannot be prouder of her. On behalf of the government and good people of Enugu State, I say congratulations Chidimma – keep soaring to even greater heights! Let me also take this opportunity to thank Nigerians and the rest of the world, who rallied behind her and voted, to enable her achieve this feat.”

Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman and CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, has similarly praised Chidimma Adetshina for securing the first runner-up position at the Miss Universe contest.

In a statement released by her media aide, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa remarked that Chidimma’s achievement was a testament to her tenacity and resilience.

She also conveyed her enthusiasm that, despite the challenges, Chidimma maintained her focus and successfully reached her objectives.

She said, “She is brilliant, focused and determined. I urge Nigerians to emulate the spirit of Nigerianess in Chidimma by being proud of the country and not run it down under whatever guise.”
